The systems main goal is conformity by any means, be that docile, domesticated, de-radicalized or outright lobotomized population. In recent centuries, due to the industrial progress of the society, the system has become more and more liberal. This happened specifically due to the systems one and only goal—maintain order. We got feminism because the economy needed new workers and home-keeping being culturally and factually reduced in it’s value and meaningfulness. We got lgbt for relatively same reasons. We also got the anti-men sentiment in the media today, which didn’t exist that much at the time of this book, specifically due to the fact that men, naturally, are more aggressive, assertive, militant and by an extension more prone to being revolutionaries.
In other words the only thing that the system is, is order. No more, no less. The system is not left, it’s not right, it’s not liberal or conservative, it’s just obedience. There is no greater evil behind the system either. The zog, the jews, the Blackrocks of the world are the same cogs in the machine, just bigger ones. Although, I will remark that the idea of zog does conveniently simplify the whole thing, thus shall be used.
The “rebelion,” as Ted correctly remarks, has also been co-opted into the system. The radicals are used as the reason and an example of why we should accept the lesser evil. In a sense all the antifa, lgbt, feminist, decolonization, etc. “activists” are the tools for conformity. They all have the same goal at the core of their beliefs—make society more homogenized, more diverse and due to this less conflict prone. This is much more apparent to a modern viewer, since many of these “activists” have been exposed time and time again in the recent decades. However, I do need to point out Ted’s incredible insight on the topic that has not been as thoroughly dissected at his time.
The anti-tradition element of the system however, is more difficult to grasp. The easy way to explain it is simply, the system needs to preserve what is and not what was. Nonetheless I shall try and elaborate on it further. First it’s quite important to mention that tradition is not conservative or right-wing, both left and right wing politics has been invented during the industrial revolution. The tradition is older, it has nothing to do with conservatism, in reality a lot of modern conservatives will not agree with the fundamental traditional values, e.g. living in harmony with earth and preserving what you have instead of endless conquest. For the sake of this book’s argument traditionalism can be defined as largely anti-industrial and anti-globalist, which lands it squarely in the proverbial sights of the system. By this logic, the modern right, aka Trumps, Orbans, putins, etc., of the world are the other side of the leftist coin. They may seem anti-system at first, hence they often argue against liberal values and by extension against modern conformity. But in reality, all they do is put you in a camp, a camp that system needs and actively uses. Trump and his administration will be an example to the future generations of why you should not vote outside of the conforming candidates. Trump and all of his cronies are the same radical tool of the system that the antifa is. They will push harder surveillance under the guise of “we don’t want another Trump,” which will take away the last freedoms that we will have. And the “bigger enemy” narrative is especially obvious when it comes to Epstein files, which are currently being used to distract the public form the absolute circus that is going on in Washington, and especially from the numerous surveillance contracts that the government has signed with Palantir in the meantime.
In conclusion, I would like to state, that being anti-systems is being ungovernable. Which is sadly an easily hijack-able statement, used by both left and right.
